How do I delete my account?

Ngris has two different deletion actions, and they do very different things. Read the distinction carefully before you delete anything — deletion is permanent and removes endpoints, certificates and traffic history.

Both deletions are done in the dashboard only. For your security they are refused for API keys and for the Iris assistant / MCP tokens (HTTP 403) — you must be signed in to the dashboard. Before either deletion goes through you are asked to re-enter your password, plus your two-factor code if you have 2FA enabled.

  • Delete this account — removes one account and keeps your login.
  • Delete my account — closes your entire profile (your login and every account you own) and signs you out for good.

Delete this account (one account, keep your login)

Go to Account Settings → Danger zone and choose Delete this account. This deletes the currently-active account and its endpoints, certificates and traffic history. You stay signed in and are switched to another of your accounts.

You cannot delete your only account this way — the system refuses it. If it is the last account you have, use Delete my account (below) instead.

The deletion is blocked (HTTP 409) while the account has any of the following. Resolve the blocker, then retry:

  • an active paid subscription,
  • other active members,
  • a positive credit balance, or
  • unpaid invoices.

API: DELETE /api/account (owner-only; requires the settings:delete permission). It acts on your currently-active account.

Delete my account (whole profile, sign out permanently)

Go to User Settings → Danger zone and choose Delete my account. This permanently closes your entire profile: your login and every account you own, together with their endpoints, certificates and traffic history. You are signed out and cannot sign in again.

The deletion is blocked (HTTP 409) if any account you own has an active subscription, other active members, a positive credit balance, or unpaid invoices. On each owned account cancel the subscription, transfer or remove the other members, withdraw any remaining credit and settle unpaid invoices, then retry.

API: DELETE /api/user (self-service; acts on the current user).

Which one should I use?

  • Want to remove one workspace but keep using Ngris? Use Delete this account (Account Settings). Your login and other accounts stay.
  • Want to leave Ngris entirely? Use Delete my account (User Settings). Everything you own is removed and you are logged out.
