Iris: your AI edge assistant

Iris is the AI assistant built into ngris. It turns plain-English requests into edge configuration, answers questions about your account, and searches your traffic logs — with a hard rule that you approve any change before it takes effect.

Draft traffic-policy rules from plain English

Describe what you want and Iris drafts the rule for you — WAF, rate limits, routing, error templates, and alerts. For example:

  • “Rate-limit /login to 5 requests per minute per IP.”
  • “Block requests to /admin from outside the EU, but allow my office IP.”

Before anything is applied, Iris shows a confirmation card and a blast-radius dry-run so you can see what the rule would affect. Nothing changes until you approve it.

Ask about your account

Iris can answer grounded questions about your own account — your endpoints, members, plan, and verification status — so you can get an answer without digging through the dashboard.

Search your traffic logs in plain English

Ask Iris to find requests in your HTTP traffic logs from a plain-English query — for example “show 5xx responses on /api in the last hour” — and it turns that into a traffic-log search for you.

What Iris will and will not do on its own

Iris drafts, you approve. Writes beyond firewall rules always need your manual approval. The only place Iris can act on its own is an opt-in, firewall-only autonomy mode — and even that is designed to auto-revert its firewall changes shortly after. Everything else waits for you.

Where to find Iris

Iris is available as a full-page chat in the dashboard and as a magic-wand button on the rule and policy forms, so you can generate a rule right where you would otherwise write it by hand.
